Hi, I'm Carrie Howard, LCSW, CCATP

Founder of Thrive Anxiety Solutions

I'm so glad you're here!

Do you look like you have it all together— but underneath, you're overwhelmed, overthinking, and burned out?

Outwardly you appear confident, friendly, and even successful.

But anxiety is running the show behind the scenes—fueling your perfectionism, making you constantly second-guess yourself and keeping you stuck in your head.

You get things done, but it's exhausting.

You smile and push through, but you're not really okay.

You're holding it all together—but barely.

If you're tired of over-functioning, overthinking, and never feeling enough, you're in the right place.

I specialize in helping high-functioning individuals break free from anxiety, reconnect with themselves, and finally feel calm, clear, and confident.

I've been there too. And I'd be honored to help you heal.

Sounds like me. Let's get started!

A Little About Me

I live in a small Texas town called Gunter, where cow pastures stretch along the roads and neighbors still wave when they pass by. As a former suburban girl, I never imagined I’d feel so at home in the country—but I’ve truly found my place here.

My favorite thing by far is being with my sweet family. I’ve been married to my husband for 11 years, and together we have three amazing kids who keep us on our toes and bring so much joy.

Growing up, I dreamed of being a wife and mom—but for a long time, I wasn’t sure if that dream would come true. My anxiety was so overwhelming, I couldn’t picture a future where I felt present or capable enough to enjoy it. Healing hasn't been linear, and anxiety still shows up sometimes—but learning how to work with it instead of against it has allowed me to experience the kind of life and connection I used to think was impossible.

Now, I am absolutely privileged to get to help others find that kind of freedom too!

My Background and Approach

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Provider (CCATP), and anxiety coach — which means I bring both specialized clinical expertise and real-world, practical tools to the work I do.

As a therapist, I was trained in the traditional medical model of treating anxiety — therapy, often alongside medication. And while that model can be incredibly helpful and even life-saving for some, I found it often fell short with many of the high-functioning, deep-feeling people I worked with.

I believe in therapy. I believe in medication when it’s needed.
But I also believe anxiety is not always a disorder — and not all anxious struggles fit neatly into a diagnosis.

Many of the people I support aren’t falling apart. They’re holding it all together — but quietly overwhelmed. They’re perfectionists, overthinkers, people-pleasers. They look “fine” from the outside but feel stuck, exhausted, or disconnected on the inside.

My approach is holistic, compassionate, and empowering. I integrate evidence-based strategies that address the whole person—mind, body, and soul to help people calm their anxiety, rebuild self-trust, and reconnect with the version of themselves they’ve lost touch with.

Whether I’m supporting someone through therapy or coaching, my passion is helping anxious achievers move from fear and self-doubt into confidence, clarity, and emotional freedom.

Real Talk Here!

My understanding of anxiety goes far beyond professional training — it’s deeply personal.

I’ve lived it.

Since childhood, I’ve struggled with panic, social anxiety, excessive worry, and the kind of fear-based beliefs that quietly shape your life — the ones that make you shrink back from relationships, opportunities, and moments that matter.

So when I say I get it, I truly do.

I know how exhausting it is to appear capable on the outside while battling an inner world full of doubt and fear. And I also know what it’s like to decide that anxiety doesn't get to be the narrator of your life anymore.

My healing journey hasn’t been perfect or linear. I still experience some anxiety—it just looks drastically different than it used to. I no longer get derailed by it, and I'm able to let it fuel me toward meaningful action and engaging with the things that matter most to me. And now, it's my honor to walk alongside others who are ready to face their anxiety, reconnect with themselves, and build a life that feels grounded, joyful, and free.
